Northern New Jersey ARES Emergency Nets & Disaster Response Preparedness

Northern New Jersey ARES teams recently conducted a section-wide emergency activation drill simulating severe coastal storm and grid blackout conditions.

Volunteer operators established primary voice links on local 2-meter repeater networks and HF NTS nets, relaying formal ICS-213 health and welfare messages using digital Winlink radio systems.

Section leadership commended emergency coordinators across Morris, Sussex, Essex, and Bergen counties for seamless inter-agency message transport.
